( IMX )CENTER PIN/ STEELHEAD RODS Most older version float rods in the market are tip-heavy, making them tiresome to fish so That’s where IMX comes into play. We can make them long, responsive and dramatically lighter, not to mention better balanced. Rather than use a fixed position reel seat, we provide rings so you can position your reel where you want it. The beauty of center pin fishing is that it’s simplistic in the approach and it doesn't’t matter if you are a bait angler, lure angler or fly angler. It’s a nice traditional approach to fishing and when the fly waters are too high or even a little off color, the center pin system can not only save the day, but can be a peaceful, pleasurable experience.
IMX 1363-4 CPR ...This Center-Pin rod, at 11' 4" provides a little more backbone for slightly larger rigs and big water. It has more than adequate casting range and enough power to handle larger fish. It helps keep line clear of the water for a drag-free drift that allows you more coverage and positive line and lure control. IMX makes it very sensitive and light and light as a feather. It's one of our best all-around Center-Pin rods and comes in a 4-piece configuration for easier storage and travel.
IMX 1562-2 CPR ... Longer drifts and a more natural presentation is what Center-Pin rods are all about. This 13-footer provides maximum line and lure control along with the ability to move a lot of line when that big steelhead eats your offering at the end of a long drift. It's slightly softer flex helps protect light line, allowing you to fish small baits effectively when the water is low and clear and the fish are extra-spooky. IMX technology helps this rod recover quickly and telegraph everything your rig is doing on the drift. A wonderful revival of an old technique with our latest rod technology.
IMX 1262-2C STFR ... A 10' 6" float rod designed for those anglers that prefer casting reels over spinning reels while fishing small to medium-sized rivers where you don't need to make long casts or super-long drifts. It provides excellent line and float control and because it's a little shorter, allows you to react quickly and make positive hooksets. It will handle lighter jigs and small, less obtrusive floats to fish low water conditions where the fish can get spooky. Thanks to IMX technology it is light, responsive and extremely sensitive. A must-have rod for any float fishing aficionado.

STR1141S-IMX ...Since G. Loomis retired the legendary 1562-13', we are pleased to still be able to offer you an IMX but in 9'6" length. The 1141 IMX makes an excellent contender in those tight rivers housing trophy size steelhead! Its a deceptively powerful light-line steelhead float/spinning rod. It has the perfect action to handle light line and a subtle power that tires the fish very quickly. It was designed for the Northwest technique known as boondogging, where boat anglers drift with the current, allowing the bait to maintain a drag-free drift beside the boat but will perform just as well when used at shore streamside drifting a float. This is a soft yet sensitive rod so the bite is detected quickly before the fish can react and drop the bait. G. Loomis felt rod sock included

pin float rods, G. Loomis is proud to offer four new models that
cover all your float needs, from the great lakes to the pacific
northwest. These float rods have very light yet strong tips that
say goodbye to "tip sag." While other manufacturers
have to add more material to create long rods like these,
resulting in heavy sagging tips, we chose to use our proprietary
GLX graphite. The rods are finished with extra long cork and composite
handles for perfect balance and reel positioning, then matched
with the finest high frame titanium recoil guides from Rec for higher sensitivity and reduced weight. The result is the
lightest, fastest float rod of this length anywhere. G. Loomis felt rod sock included
STR1141S-GLX ... The 9'6" length makes for the ultimate light-line steelhead spinning rod. It has the perfect action to handle really light line and a subtle power, much like that of a fly rod, that tires the fish very quickly. It was originally designed for the Northwest technique known as boondogging, where boat anglers free-drift, down current, the same speed as the river. This allows the bait to maintain a drag-free drift beside the boat. The technique requires a lot of sensitivity and a more forgiving rod because the fish will drop the bait the minute it feels any resistance. It works well for both winter and summer-run fish.
STR1352-GLX ... The 11'3" length makes this the perfect float rod for the famous creeks of Pennsylvania and Indiana, and anywhere breaking through brush or fishing tight water is required. This float rod has a soft enough tip to protect light leaders where water clarity requires them, yet maintain the power to turn a fresh run steelhead anywhere.
STR1562-GLX ... This float rod, referred to as the GLX 13' 2 power, is a great all-around rod no matter where you fish. The 13 foot length and high speed make casting floats of any size a dream. Its super light weight balances with almost any pin reel making long days with no arm fatigue possible for the first time.
STR1563-GLX ... Big water, heavy flows and large floats are no match for this 3 power GLX float rod. It's hard to believe a rod this light can handle 6-10 pound leaders and still have the speed to set hooks at distances never thought possible. STR1803-GLX... 15 foot, fast and light, never before has this option been available. STR1263C-GL3 ...This is a nice blend of power and finesse in an extra-long drift rod. It's designed specifically for the big rivers of British Columbia where you need a little more sensitivity to detect the subtle take of a steelhead. It has a medium power rating that makes it ideal for summer steelhead and the small fall salmon species. GL3 gives you a great combination of strength and sensitivity. Light enough to fish all day, tough enough to last a lifetime!
STR1201S-SK.....A specialty steelhead rod designed to fish the smaller, streams of the Great Lakes region, where you need a quick hook-set to keep the fish clear of brush and logs. The handle grips are reversed from the traditional western rod styles, with a long foregrip and short rear grip. This lets the angler put his hand ahead of the reel. That way he can lift the rod tip quickly without having to lift the reel. In fact, the reel acts as a counterweight.
STR1163S-SK....This is the most powerful spinning rod in the steelhead lineup. It will allow you to cover any big river in just about any condition either from the bank or from the drift boat, with traditional techniques in mind ..and if need be .. you can drop down to the lighter baits and spinners. Great for silvers, chums, sockeye and even a small Chinook if you can find one. SK designates a special "Skamania" handle configuration which features the long fore-grip and short rear grip to change the balance point on the rod for anglers fishing small, brushy streams and rivers where a quick hook set and more leverage are beneficial. It also provides better fish control while the extra length also allows you to use longer leaders when the water is low and clear.
E6X 1265-2C SAR BC GH ...A specialty rod designed for mooching in tidewater and ocean salmon fisheries. It has a powerful tip and butt, capable of mooching/trolling up to 8-ounces. Rated for 10-40 pound line, the ten and a half-foot length gives you excellent line/lure control and will handle long leaders. E6X technology allows us to make it surprisingly light and strong. ÒBCÓ refers to the long fore-grip and short rear grip - both graphite - accommodating single-action mooching reels.

The new rods got a jump in construction and is now built out of quality 30 ton graphite, with quality guides, cork handle and is also a must for transport due to its unique 4pc design. Makes for an awesome traditional Center Pin Style fishing using a great float rod.

These ‘Float Rod’ sticks go above and beyond in every way. It all starts with a graphite composite blank, which features a fiberglass layer in the butt section for exceptional balance and power. The guides are over-sized recoils on the top for less icing issues, with durable and sleek ceramics on the bottom section. There are ‘float-depth’ indicators along the spine of the rod, to quickly calculate depth by hooking into the hook-keeper. The reel seat and sliding ring models are optimized for all types of reels and are perfectly positioned on the custom proprietary CFX Carbon-Weave Handles. The handle ‘warms’ to the touch and grips phenomenally, even in cold/wet weather.
